The Extension is built on a Zero-Server Architecture. Unlike traditional software-as-a-service (SaaS) tools, the Extension does not function as a data collector. It serves strictly as a functional "Bridge," facilitating the secure transfer of data between equitest.net and authorized AI environments.

3. Data Processing and Handling

We adhere to a rigorous local-only processing model:

• Data Extraction: The Extension only accesses financial data from an active Equitest.net session when the user performs an explicit "Opt-In" action by clicking the "Generate AI Report" button.

• No Data Retention: We do not maintain any databases, logs, or backups of the valuations, actuarial data, or client information processed through the Extension.

• Transitory Storage: To bridge the data between browser tabs, the Extension utilizes chrome.storage.local. This is a sandboxed, local memory environment. Data in this storage is:

  • Encrypted at rest by the browser's native security protocols.

  • Automatically purged immediately following a successful injection into the target AI tab.

  • Subject to a self-destruct timer of 120 seconds if not utilized.

4. Third-Party AI Integrations

The Extension facilitates the transfer of data to third-party Large Language Model (LLM) providers (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic, Google).

• User Responsibility: Upon bridging data to these platforms, the information becomes subject to the specific Privacy Policy and Terms of Service of that provider.

• Data Masking: We encourage users to follow industry best practices regarding PII (Personally Identifiable Information) masking when interacting with public AI models.

5. Non-Collection of Metadata

The Extension does not track, monitor, or store:

• User browsing history or activity outside of Equitest.net.

• IP addresses, device identifiers, or geolocation data.

• The content or frequency of the generated reports.

6. Transparency and Permissions

To function effectively, the Extension requires the following permissions:

• 'Tabs': To programmatically open and manage the AI interface selected by the user.

• 'Storage': To hold the transitory prompt during the cross-tab transfer.

• 'Host Permissions': To permit interaction with the source (equitest.net) and destination chat interfaces.
